Glenn Fabry's cover for this June 1997 DC/Vertigo issue captures Jesse Custer mid-fall — or perhaps mid-flight — against the glittering New York City skyline, a full amber moon hanging low behind what appears to be the Empire State Building. His grinning, wide-eyed expression is somewhere between exhilaration and abandon, jacket billowing as he tumbles through the purple night air above the city streets. With Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon steering the story and a title like "To The Streets of Manhattan I Wandered Away," this installment promises the series' signature blend of raw energy and dark, freewheeling adventure.
