“Cosmic Part Three”

A blinding column of light tears down from the heavens onto a quiet suburban street, with tiny silhouetted figures watching from below as swirling energy ripples outward in every direction — it's a cover that makes the cosmos feel uncomfortably close to home. Michael Avon Oeming's painted composition bathes the entire scene in warm amber and gold, giving the image an almost reverent weight that suits the "Cosmic" arc perfectly. Brian Michael Bendis and Oeming's Powers continues to find the extraordinary lurking within the ordinary, and issue #15 looks like one of the more striking entries in this 2005 run.
