Power Pack #45

The cover of this 1989 Marvel issue sets an unsettling, surreal tone: a glowing white figure — one of the young heroes of Power Pack — recoils in distress, surrounded by a cluster of swirling bubbles each containing a monstrous, wide-open maw filled with jagged teeth and dark eyes. Billed as the epilogue to "Revenge of the Boogy Man" and subtitled "Daddy's Little Girl," this issue promises the Pack's battle isn't quite over yet. Penciled by June Brigman and inked by Hilary Barta, the cover captures a genuinely eerie moment that makes it clear Power Pack could go to some surprisingly dark places.
