Porky Pig #40
In "Robot Bird," Porky Pig confidently claims he can't be hypnotized—until he volunteers for a show called "The Great Optic" and finds himself under its spell. When a fire forces Petunia and Cicero to flee the theater, they're left with a still-hypnotized Porky who now acts exactly like whatever animal is mentioned in conversation. The story, illustrated by Fred Abranz, is a delightfully absurd twist on classic comedy tropes, with Tony Strobl's cover capturing the chaos in bold, expressive lines.

Porky says he can't be hypnotized, but when he volunteers to be a subject at a preformance of "The Great Optic," he is, of course, immediately hypnotized. A fire in the theatre leaves Petunia and Cicero with a still-hypnotized Porky, who behaves like any animal that is mentioned in conversation.
