“"Protection" Racket”

In "Protection" Racket, writer Gaylord Du Bois delivers a tense, grounded thriller set in the heart of a small town’s criminal underworld. When former convict Puglio breaks free and targets Baby Rose, Tom relies on his loyal snow-white Collie, Bonnie Lass, to stand guard—only to find that courage and loyalty may be the only real protection against a desperate man. The story’s emotional core lies in the quiet bond between man and dog, with the cover by an unnamed artist capturing the moment of high-stakes tension.
