Popeye #6
The sailor man is in the spotlight — literally — as Ken Wheaton's cover for this 2012 IDW issue places a bewildered Popeye center stage on what appears to be a film set, fists raised while a rotund, grinning Bluto hoists him up from behind and a director hollers "Action!" through a megaphone beside a vintage movie camera. Roger Langridge and Wheaton bring their considerable affection for these E.C. Segar creations to "The Popeye the Sailor Story," a title that promises a tale as big as the spinach-fueled sailor himself. It's a warm, funny package that any fan of classic cartoon comedy will want on their shelf.
