This anthology issue contains three police crime stories. "Highway Holdup" features Detective Dan Coffey working a hijacking case involving a motorcycle cop and thieves on a road they suspected the criminals would use. "The Case of the Atomic Bloodhound" follows Police Doctor Duncan Stuart, who becomes unwittingly involved in a bank robbery after inventing an atomic bloodhound technique, resulting in a dangerous confrontation with criminals. "Portrait in Murder" involves a private eye named Grant Steel investigating the murder of a woman named Daria DeLong, a photographer whose dark beauty made her a target; Steel encounters criminals threatening him over her murder while trying to solve the case and prevent further violence.
