Planet of the Apes #6

This Dark Horse continuation of the Planet of the Apes saga reaches its third chapter of the "Bloodlines" arc with issue #6, and the photo cover makes an immediate impression — an armored ape warrior looms into frame, teeth bared and eyes locked forward with unmistakable menace, his ornate shoulder armor signaling authority and conflict in equal measure. A smaller inset image in the corner shows another ape figure mid-leap, sword raised, hinting at the action within. Inside, writer Dan Abnett and artist Paco Medina carry the story forward with inks by Juan Vlasco and colors by Dan Jackson — a solid creative team for one of 2002's more ambitious licensed comics runs.
