Planet of the Apes #28
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe tagline says it all — "Where man once stood supreme, now rule the apes" — and Earl Norem's painted cover delivers on that promise with a visceral clash between an armored ape warrior and a mutant figure grappling atop what appears to be a massive cannon or missile, with the ruined cityscape of a fallen civilization stretching out behind them. The cover copy promises "Ape and Mutant Struggle for the Fate of a World," perfectly setting the stage for "Revolt of the Gorilloids!" inside, written by Doug Moench with art by Herb Trimpe and Virgil Redondo. Marvel's Planet of the Apes magazine was firing on all cylinders in 1977, and this issue looks like a fine example of why.
