“Braintech”

Issue #18 of DC's Pinky and the Brain (December 1997) leans hard into mecha territory, with cover art by Walter Carzon and Mike DeCarlo depicting Brain as a hulking, sword-wielding robot suit bristling with armor plating and a bold "B" insignia — an imposing war machine that still somehow reads unmistakably mouse. Pinky, meanwhile, appears in his own smaller mechanical getup near the bottom, clutching what looks like a syringe-shaped weapon and wearing his trademark bewildered expression. Tied to the story "Braintech," this issue is a fun romp through one of the more inventive visual concepts the series offered in its 1997 run.
