Philémon #16

Part of Fred's beloved Philémon series, this 2013 Dargaud volume is titled Le Train où vont les choses… — "The Train Where Things Go…" — and the cover immediately sparks curiosity. A hulking, almost living steam locomotive lurches through a moonlit landscape, its mechanical face eerily expressive, while two figures stand silhouetted beside a glowing campfire in the background. Fred's distinctively whimsical line work turns an ordinary machine into something wonderfully strange, setting the mood for the surreal adventures this series does so well.
