# Pep Comics #20 The Hangman pursues a criminal called the Jackal across a Midtown bridge, causing a spectacular crash that sends the villain and his vehicle plunging into the river below. After apprehending the Jackal at his apartment, the Hangman learns of Nazi agents operating in an English village and embarks on a mission abroad. There he encounters a mystical woman named Madam Satan whose spell temporarily overwhelms him, but her enchantment is broken and good ultimately prevails, with the Hangman receiving recognition for his heroic work in the war effort.
