Pardon lul #5

Dutch cartoonist Hein de Kort brings his gleefully irreverent style to this fifth installment of Pardon Lul, published by Uitgeverij L in 2005. The cover sets the tone immediately: a rotund, blissfully reclining figure sprawls across a bed surrounded by scattered banknotes, while a bewildered onlooker watches from the doorway and a tiny garden gnome trundles across the foreground with a little cart — pure absurdist comedy rendered in de Kort's bright, rubbery linework. If you enjoy humor that doesn't take itself seriously for even a moment, this one delivers the goods.
