Part one of this two-issue Paradise X special arrives with a stunning Alex Ross cover that places a winged, armored Thor figure bursting through a cascade of shattering black and grey shards — a striking image of mythic force meeting destruction. The painterly composition, with its red cape streaming behind the warrior and fragments exploding in every direction, sets an appropriately apocalyptic tone for a story bearing the name Ragnarök. With Krueger, Yeates, and Villarrubia bringing the interior to life, this 2003 limited series looks to be a worthy addition to the Paradise X saga.
