Paper Girls #15

Paper Girls #15 delivers one of the series' most striking covers: a figure in a space helmet, arms raised triumphantly above her head wielding what appear to be primitive tools, stands atop a rocky outcrop against a warm amber sky — a image that perfectly captures the series' wild collision of the familiar and the deeply strange. Cliff Chiang's clean, poster-like art gives the scene an almost mythic quality, with the smiley-face emblem on the figure's back adding a wonderfully dissonant note. Brian K. Vaughan and Chiang continue to make Paper Girls one of Image Comics' most visually inventive series, and this issue looks like no exception.
