Pantha's five-issue Dynamite run reaches its conclusion with a cover that crackles with menace — Mark Texeira's painted artwork places the razor-clawed heroine front and center, her long dark hair whipping as she faces off against a leering, red-eyed vampire lord descending from above, a bat silhouetted against a blazing amber sky behind him. Texeira handles every line, ink, and color himself, and the result is a richly atmospheric piece that feels closer to pulp horror painting than standard superhero art. If this 2012 series has been on your radar, issue five is a satisfying visual send-off to one of comics' most distinctive cat-women.
