Pantha #1
Dynamite's 2022 relaunch of Pantha opens with a cover by Judy Jong that immediately establishes the character's dual nature: a young blonde woman peers out from a forest setting, her mismatched eyes hinting at something wild within, while a glowing, snarling panther apparition looms from the hood of her camouflage jacket. The supernatural energy crackling between human and beast makes for a genuinely compelling visual introduction to the series. With Tom Sniegoski and Jeannine Acheson co-writing and Igor Lima on interior art, this first issue looks like a fresh, atmospheric take on one of comics' more intriguing heroines.
