Pandemonium #3
The third volume of Christophe Bec and Stefano Raffaele's chilling series arrives with a cover that perfectly captures its unsettling tone — two figures, a young girl and a woman, face each other in the cold, decayed interior of what appears to be an abandoned asylum, their hands touching in a moment of eerie, ambiguous connection. Raffaele's artwork bathes the scene in deep teal shadows, the crumbling tiled walls and rusted hospital beds lending the image a haunting, almost photographic dread. Subtitled Mort Blanche ("White Death"), this 2011 Soleil release promises that Pandemonium continues to be one of French horror comics' most atmospheric offerings.
