This issue features "The Marked Marshal," a story about a gang of tough, steel-hard gunmen who gave no quarter until Marshal Hickok arrived to stop them, and "He Did The Kid," in which Sheriff Pat Garrett of Lincoln County, New Mexico recounts the final chapter of Billy the Kid's life. The Garrett narrative describes his efforts to track down the Kid following his escape, his correspondence with other officials, and his journey with deputies through New Mexico and into the Pecos Valley in pursuit of the fugitive. The issue culminates in a confrontation involving gunslinger Wild Bill Moran, Deputy Nels Munson, and the Kid himself.
