This issue is an anthology containing three Western stories. "Gun Justice" follows a woman who helps outlaws escape town; when they flee on horseback, unseen guns fire at them, and the outlaws turn on each other until they're stopped by a marshal who gives the woman a badge, praising her bravery. "Snake Bite" features Marshal Ben Russ confronting the outlaw Mace, who has shot and wounded a man; Ben convinces Mace to hand over his prisoners to territorial jail after five days, trusting in Mace's word that he can be lenient. "Blood Is Thicker" tells of Burris Jones, who has a small fortune at stake and a valuable longhorn, embarking on a mission to save a stranger's life; when the stranger (Wismer) arrives injured at the ranch, Moose rides to town for the doctor, and Burris Jones brings Wismer back, where the doctor treats his injuries of a bruised arm, concussion, and cracked ribs.

Gun Justice
8 pp · Western-Frontier

A reformed gunfighter becomes sheriff of Buckhorn, Texas, only to discover the town's corrupt leaders have made a devil's bargain with the outlaw Buck Baron—and when justice fails in a rigged courtroom, Clay Cabot must decide whether to abandon his new life or stand alone against the very men he swore to protect the town from. This 1961 western tale explores what it means to truly uphold the law when the law itself has been corrupted, and whether a man can build a new life on principles when everyone around him is willing to sell theirs.

Blood Is Thicker

On the lawless edges of the frontier, grizzled outlaw Cap Mace discovers that the new marshal sent to tame Powder Gulch is his own son—a man he abandoned years before—and must decide whether blood runs deeper than the outlaw code he's lived by. When rival gunman Monk Ferris moves to eliminate the young lawman, Cap faces a choice that will test everything he thought he stood for. "Blood Is Thicker" is a taut six-page tale of unexpected kinship and redemption in the Old West.

In a Dakota town, the vicious and solitary Snake Wismer strikes down a man without mercy, earning himself the hatred of everyone around him—until a sudden storm leaves him broken and defenseless on the range. When a rancher named Burris Jones rescues the injured outlaw and nurses him back to health, Snake repays the kindness by stealing the $27,000 Jones has just earned from selling his herd, a fortune meant to save the ranch and pay his loyal crew. Now on the run with the cash, Snake flees toward the Badlands, leaving destruction in his wake.
