Out of the Vortex #8

Part of Dark Horse's Comics' Greatest World line, Out of the Vortex #8 delivers a vivid cover by Michael Golden showing a red-suited, grimacing hero bursting through a shattering barrier — crackling blue energy portals flaring on either side of him — while an array of weapons trained upward from the foreground make clear he's charging straight into danger. The bright yellow background throws every jagged shard and bolt of power into sharp relief, giving the whole image a kinetic urgency that fits the story title "Trapped in the Vortex" perfectly. With interior work from writer Neal Barrett Jr. and artist Damon Willis, this 1994 issue is a solid chapter in one of Dark Horse's more ambitious shared-universe experiments.
