Out of the Night #5

"Out of the Night" #5 is an anthology containing at least two stories. "Out of the Night" features a supernatural writer named Gary Lawson who acquires an ancient tome of necromancy from a mysterious Hex of Horror character; the book grants him access to dark supernatural secrets, but when he attempts to destroy it, the grimoire proves indestructible and instead pulls him into its cursed knowledge. A second story involves a ship's passenger and crew members encountering supernatural evil on a river journey, with warnings from a crew member named Rasu about the dangers of the nearby fork in the tributary, leading to a confrontation with an ominous winged menace that attacks the vessel.
