Our Gang Comics #8
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis November–December 1943 Dell issue wraps its Thanksgiving-season charm in a Walt Kelly cover that's hard to resist: a big, good-natured bear in a Pilgrim hat and red trousers levels a megaphone at a tiny mouse dressed in a Native American headdress and armed with a little hatchet, while a group of wide-eyed children in Pilgrim hats peek curiously over a fallen log behind them. The autumnal woodland setting — scattered leaves, bare-branched trees — gives the whole scene a wonderfully festive, playful energy that perfectly suits the holiday spirit of the era. Inside, Carl Barks handles the writing and art duties solo, making this a genuinely appealing entry in the Our Gang Comics run.
