DC's long-running war anthology delivers a gripping December 1959 cover by Joe Kubert, showing a massive, grimacing enemy soldier looming over the jungle battlefield, rifle and pistol in hand, while smaller Allied soldiers beneath him scramble and fire back in desperation. The cover promises a new two-part Gunner & Sarge story titled "The Biggest Target in the World!" — a bold visual concept that Kubert renders with his trademark raw intensity and dynamic perspective. Robert Kanigher and Kubert were one of the great war-comics partnerships of the era, and this issue looks like a fine example of why.
