History

One World Under Doom was conceived and positioned by Marvel editorial as a sustained 'era' — comparable in scope to 2008–2009's Dark Reign — rather than a traditional crossover event, with editor Tom Brevoort describing it as something that would 'impact every corner of the universe for 2025.' Ryan North, who had already spent two years establishing the groundwork for Doom's rise in his Fantastic Four run, wrote the nine-issue core series with art by R.B. Silva and colors by David Curiel; the same creative team handled every issue of the main title. The event was timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Avengers: Doomsday, making issue #7 — released September 10, 2025 — a late-summer installment at the height of that cross-media moment.
