The finale of Old Man Quill goes out with a gut-punch image: a white-haired Peter Quill, gun raised, standing impossibly small before the glowing red eyes and massive frame of Galactus as lightning tears through a blood-red sky behind them. It's a cover that captures the whole spirit of this series — one battered, aging hero refusing to back down no matter the scale of what's in front of him. Ethan Sacks, Robert Gill, and Andres Mossa brought this grittier, future-scarred corner of the Marvel Universe to life, and this 2020 closer makes it clear they weren't pulling any punches on the way out.
