Christian Ward's cover for Ody-C #10 is a striking study in crimson — a lone armored figure kneels in exhaustion or anguish, gripping a weapon planted in a spreading pool of dark liquid against a vast red field. The image is spare and quietly devastating, letting that sea of red do most of the emotional heavy lifting. Matt Fraction and Ward's psychedelic, gender-flipped Odyssey odyssey continues to produce some of the most visually bold covers on shelves in 2016.
