An Eskimo boy's ordinary day on the ice takes a surreal turn when a smooth-talking company representative offers him a chance to be the face of a television commercial—whisking him away on an increasingly bizarre journey that defies all logic. As the boy finds himself in impossible situations with people who don't recognize him, speaking in languages he can't understand, and facing increasingly strange encounters, he struggles to make sense of the unfolding madness around him. Frank Roberoe's "Dreamland" is a delightfully trippy seven-page romp through humor and disorientation that builds to a payoff only a true Noodnik reader could appreciate.

When Noodnik and Dude encounter a young Indian who mistakes their friend Nuk for the legendary head of a totem pole, the boy's tribe claims Nuk as their long-lost chief—and he's not eager to leave. Desperate to rescue their buddy, the two friends devise a clever scheme that sends the "Little Chief" scrambling back to them by sunrise, though not quite in the way they expected.

Noodnik sets his sights on winning the annual salmon-catching contest, determined not to repeat last year's cheating scandal—but temptation strikes when his rival Blubber Boy Okputi's catch threatens to beat his own. What starts as a scheming nighttime plan to sabotage the competition takes an ironic turn when the contest results roll in, and Noodnik discovers that his own underhanded trick has backfired in the most humbling way possible.
