A sunset beach turns into a battleground on Pat Olliffe and Mark McKenna's cover for this "Red Tide" chapter, where a dreadlocked gunman in a green-and-gold suit levels an assault rifle while a long-haired figure in a blue coat raises a pistol behind him — two fallen figures sprawled on the sand between them adding real urgency to the standoff. Fabian Nicieza's "The Flow" promises the kind of street-level tension Nomad does best, with Pat Olliffe and Mark McKenna bringing gritty energy to every panel. This January 1993 issue also carries Marvel's 30th Anniversary Amazing Spider-Man badge, a nice reminder of the rich universe surrounding this underrated series.
