Nocturne #2

The second chapter of Marvel's 1995 Nocturne limited series carries the subtitle "Night of the Raven," and Rafael Fonteriz's cover delivers a striking image to match: a winged, purple-clad Nocturne soars arms-wide above a dense urban skyline, a blazing golden moon at his back and the city's canyons falling away beneath him in a dramatic upward perspective. Stone gargoyles perch on the surrounding rooftops, lending the scene an appropriately gothic atmosphere. Dan Abnett's story — brought to life inside by Joe Fonteriz, John Stokes, Steve White, and Pat Prentice — continues to establish Nocturne as one of Marvel's more atmospheric dark-hero offerings of the mid-nineties.
