Nightwing Annual #1

Part of the New 52's "Batgirl: Wanted" crossover, this 2013 annual brings together two of Gotham's most compelling proteges in one oversized package. Tony Daniel's cover sets the tone beautifully — Nightwing stands front and center atop what appears to be a Bat-vehicle, a red-haired woman crouching at his feet, while Batgirl swoops dynamically in the background and a brooding Batman looms large above them all. With Kyle Higgins writing and both Jason Masters and Daniel Sampere on interior art, "Embers" promises the kind of character-driven storytelling that made this New 52 run such a rewarding ride.
