Tied directly to DC's 2008 "Batman R.I.P." crossover event, this chapter of "The Great Leap" arc raises an urgent question right on the cover: "R.I.P.?" Rags Morales's cover art makes the stakes viscerally clear — Nightwing is sprawled limp against a wall in a crimson splash of bat-winged shadow, while a figure below reaches desperately upward, unable to close the distance. Peter J. Tomasi and the creative team were clearly not pulling their punches as Dick Grayson's world collided with the darkest moment in Batman's history.
