Nightwatch goes face-to-face — literally — with Venom in this August 1994 Marvel slugfest, and the cover by Steven Butler and Al Milgrom makes the confrontation feel immediate and visceral: Nightwatch's skull-masked visage looms on the left while Venom fills the right with that enormous, drooling maw stretched wide and a red-gauntleted fist cocked and ready to land. The "Versus Venom!" banner says it all — two powerfully built, darkly styled figures colliding in a clash of black-and-white symbiote menace and caped ferocity that perfectly captures the aggressive energy of Marvel's mid-'90s street-level corner of the universe.
