In "Kids on the Run!" from Nightcrawler #2 (2015), Nightcrawler and Bess venture into Voge’s dimension to rescue Rico and Ziggy, only to find the kids have already broken free from the Crimson Pirates. Now, they’re determined to stick with the duo—on the condition they help take down Voge, who’s brought in the Warwolves to bolster his defenses.

In "The Heroes Rise!" from Nightcrawler #2 (2015), Nightcrawler teams up with Bloody Bess, Ziggy, and Rico to rescue mutant children enslaved by the villain Voge. After their victory, Nightcrawler welcomes the freed children to the Jean Grey School with a heartfelt game of baseball, marking a new beginning for them all.
