New Suicide Squad #10
This haunting September 2015 issue delivers one of the more unsettling covers of the New 52 era — a desert landscape strewn with skulls half-buried in pale sand, each one hinting at a fallen Squad member: a mechanical skull with a glowing red eye, one sporting a red mohawk, another with what appears to be King Shark's unmistakable toothy helmet, and scattered bones and syringes completing the grim tableau. Above the dune line, camels silhouette against a blood-red sky while black smoke billows from a distant explosion, framing the carnage with eerie calm. Cover art by Juan Ferreyra, with interiors by Philippe Briones and Blond, "Monsters" promises the Squad's desert mission has come at a very steep price.
