New Heroic Comics #86

New Heroic Comics #86 is an anthology of true-life stories of heroic action. One story features Corporal Joseph T. Smithoman of the Marine Infantry, whose company comes under mortar fire; severely wounded, he draws enemy fire from his men by removing his own possessions and pistol and drawing the Chinese Communists' attention, allowing his patrol to escape to safety. Another story depicts a civilian couple, the Groups, who defend their home when an intruder attempts to break in; Mrs. Group subdues the prowler with a butcher knife while her husband grapples with him, and police arrive to apprehend the dangerous criminal.
