As the Avengers prepare to battle Skrull impersonators in the Savage Land, Spider-Man is tossed into the jungle where he is found by Ka-Zar and Shanna. They tell him that in the past, a group of Skrulls who were disguised as SHIELD agents had been strip-mining the Savage Land for vibranium. Just as Spider-Man and the savage heroes convince each other of their humanity and decide to team up, they are confronted by Captain America.
