New Avengers #28

Part two of "You Can't Win" arrives with a cover by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer that crackles with urgency — the Illuminati's heavy hitters, including Black Panther, Doctor Strange unleashing a bolt of mystic energy, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, and what appears to be the Hulk and the Thing, surge forward through a shattered landscape. The banner warning "In 5 Months… Time Runs Out!" gives the whole image a satisfying sense of mounting dread as Jonathan Hickman's cosmic countdown continues to tighten. With Mike Deodato and Frank Martin handling interior art, this 2015 chapter is a compelling piece of one of Marvel's most ambitious ensemble stories.
