This first volume of the Swedish-language edition of Neon Genesis Evangelion collects the opening chapters of the iconic mecha series. In "Kapitel 2: Återseende" from Neon Genesis Evangelion #1, Shinji is summoned by his father to pilot the EVA 01 mecha after its usual pilot, Rei, is injured in battle—yet he refuses. The weight of that choice settles over him as the shadows of the past and the looming threat of the next apostle close in.
In "Kapitel 6: Jag gråter," Shinji struggles to recover after the battle, while General Ikari is reminded of the weight of "Mänsklighetens fulländningsprojekt." New Tokyo 3, the city he calls home, reveals itself as a massive illusion designed to lure in the Apostles.
