Navy Patrol #2

This issue contains at least two stories. "Mine Sweeper!" follows Captain Joe Thomas commanding a minesweeper through submarine-infested waters to clear a minefield, though he harbors resentment at commanding what he considers an unglamorous vessel rather than a destroyer. "Night Shift!" depicts a nighttime amphibious assault on Guadalcanal where Japanese reinforcements arrive by sea under cover of darkness, resulting in combat between naval and ground forces as torpedoes strike the beach.
