Namor, the Sub-Mariner #16

Fist of Iron" promises a clash of heavy hitters — the cover by John Byrne puts Iron Fist diving in with chi-blazing fist aimed squarely at a bare-chested, blue-haired Namor, while two women look on from the edges of a fiery, chaotic background. Byrne's dynamic linework captures both heroes at full throttle, making it easy to see why Marvel billed the Sub-Mariner as their "First and Mightiest Mutant." This July 1991 issue looks like exactly the kind of superhero showdown that earns that title.
