In "The New Iron Man Meets the Angel!", the Angel finds himself changed after exposure to radiation from an atomic test at one of Stark's weapons plants, his mind twisted in ways he can't control. Now driven to join the Evil Mutants, he becomes a threat to both the X-Men and the Avengers, forcing a reluctant Iron Man to step in when no other hero is available.

In "He'd Rather Die Than Tell," a desperate man flees the scene of a murder, clutching a mysterious crystal ball that seems to hold a terrible secret. As he tumbles from a rooftop, the ball remains intact—its surface vividly showing the crime he tried to escape.
