Mystic #41
In "When the Mummy Walks," an archaeologist's discovery of an ancient mummy in a forgotten pyramid unleashes a chilling surprise—what seems to be a relic from a long-dead civilization is actually an alien survivor who sealed itself away to escape Earth's atmosphere. As the mummy stirs to life and emerges, its desperate attempt to reclaim its stolen body ends in tragedy, undone by the very air it sought to survive.
In "The Toy Train," a lonely orphan finds himself drawn into a chilling mystery when a mysterious stranger leaves him a peculiar train set. As the boy's world shrinks and the rails seem to come alive, he must confront the terrifying reality that the train may not be a dream — especially when his cruel uncle threatens to destroy it.
In "Look Out for the Martians," a young man begins to suspect something is deeply wrong when he starts remembering things no human should know—memories of a red planet, of a long journey through space, and of a body that was never his own. As strange visions and sudden powers emerge, he learns he was not born on Earth, but grown in secret by an alien species, and now that he's come of age, the truth is impossible to ignore. The story unfolds with quiet dread as he confronts the human "scanners" sent to erase him, but their efforts only deepen the mystery of who he truly is.
In "Don't Shrink Sam's Head!", a collector with a morbid fascination for horror curiosities travels to Jivaro country to secure a shrunken head—only to fear becoming one himself. To avoid that fate, he enlists a scientist to make his head unshrinkable, but his plan takes a terrifying turn when the tribal chief offers a chilling test: if they can’t shrink his head, they’ll give him one of theirs and let him go. The experiment begins, and though his head remains intact, something far more unsettling happens to the rest of him.
