A Count has a witch for a mother and he forces her to use her black magic to gain advantage over the peasants. As she lays dying, she gives him a last doll and tells him that it is a figure of his greatest enemy. She dies before she can instruct him what to do with it, so because it has no face, he is not sure who his greatest enemy is and invites several people he has wronged in the past to a banquet. At the banquet he lights the doll on fire, thinking one of the guests will burst into flame, but he does instead.
