"Ghostly Terror in the Cave and Other Stories" features a tale of Andrews' ghost haunting those responsible for a mysterious death at sea. "The Phantom of Lonesome Swamp" tells of Old Red Fishel, the sole survivor who knew the location of a million-dollar treasure in a swamp, whose ghost is disturbed when the Rickey Brothers seek the riches, encountering a supernatural phantom that guards the cursed location. Another story involves Professor Robey's experimental salt serum meant to resurrect the dead, which he tests on executed prisoners, leading to unexpected and dire consequences when the serum appears to work on a criminal named Charles.
In "Terror of the Burning Witch," a young woman and her husband spend a restless night in a town steeped in eerie tradition, celebrating the mysterious "Day of 1760." As shadows stretch long and whispers drift through the streets, she awakens from a vivid dream of being accused and condemned as a witch—dreams that grow more chilling when her husband uncovers unsettling truths buried in the town’s past.
Professor Charles Robey has devoted years to perfecting a serum that could restore life to the dead, and when his assistant Sidney Becker witnesses the impossible—a salt-preserved corpse awakening—he finally believes in his friend's work. Desperate to prove his theory, Charles leads an expedition to Peru to test the serum on ancient human remains buried in the salt mines, but Sidney harbors darker intentions than scientific discovery. As the experiment reaches its shocking climax, the line between triumph and tragedy blurs in the depths of the burial caves.
