This is an anthology issue containing at least two stories. "What Was the Secret Power of the Green Star?" depicts a spaceship crew that encounters a crater-like orifice on an unexplored world and is cast out by a monster called Mercury; the crew escapes back to Earth with a sensational report of a huge living creature fixed in orbit. "The Meandering Man from Mars" follows a visitor from Mars who arrives on Earth and, after being mistaken for a vagrant, integrates into human society while attempting to understand Earth customs and takes a job at a strawberry shortcake stand; a young woman named Polly becomes involved in his adventures, including an encounter with barbells in a basement gym. The issue promises "Giant Jackpot Prizes" on its cover.

The Perfect Lens

In "The Perfect Lens," Professor Harold Dennis joins an iceberg patrol, where an unusual warmth and disturbance in the water lead him to realize the massive iceberg is actually a naturally formed lens that superheats the surrounding water when exposed to sunlight. As the crew prepares to detonate the iceberg, the strange phenomena vanish—leaving behind a mystery that defies explanation.
