"Autobiography of a Flirt" follows a woman named Florrie who reflects on her romantic past while camping with a man who hopes she loves him as deeply as he loves her. The story progresses through episodes of Florrie's life—attending social gatherings with a musician who inspires her, romantic moments with a man named Maurice, and eventually meeting Joe, who brings her flowers and proposes taking a trip to New York City together. After Joe mentions a business opportunity involving Dick Hanley's band, Florrie becomes confused about whether Joe is interested in her or in the business prospects, leading to tension when she discovers the real reason for his attention. The narrative ends with Florrie and Joe in their hotel room, where she awakens to find him asleep beside her, having finally gotten the rest he wanted after their eventful night.
