My Own Romance #32
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis July 1953 Atlas romance anthology leads with a cover by Russ Heath that crackles with emotional tension — a couple lost in a passionate embrace in a red ball gown and white jacket, while a stunned redhead in green looks on from the doorway, hand raised to her mouth in shock. The featured story is titled "Here Is My Heart!" (as bannered on the cover), and the whole scene captures that signature mid-century romance comics blend of glamour, longing, and complication. A lovely time capsule of the genre at its most dramatically charged.

Harriet and Bill are gradually saving money so they can wed, but when she goes on a day trip with wealthy Rod in his "foreign sportscar," Harriet begins to have doubts. Harriet dates Rod and thinks he might propose. Rod’s mother says she married her husband for security, that their marriage has as a result been “loveless,” and advises Harriet to marry for love. Harriet turns down Rod and returns to faithful Bill.
