Mutt and Jeff are up to their old tricks in this March 1956 issue from DC, with a cover by Sheldon Mayer that captures the duo's signature brand of visual comedy. The short, dapper Mutt holds a handsaw and pitches what he calls a gadget "guaranteed to cut your work in half" — while the tall, artist-dressed Jeff stands beside a colorful, abstract painting on an easel, clearly about to find out exactly what that means. It's a charming, perfectly timed gag that showcases why this long-running humor strip remained such a delight well into the 1950s.
