A ten-cent slice of pure 1938 comic mischief, More Fun Comics #34 delivers a cover by Vin Sullivan that captures an apple-orchard chase in full chaotic swing — an irate old farmer, rifle in hand and hat flying off his head, bears down on a barefoot kid scrambling away with apples tumbling everywhere, while a spotted dog joins the mayhem near a stern "Private Property — No Trespassing" sign. It's the kind of warm, rubbery humor that made early DC anthology titles such a delight, and this issue also features interior work from the Siegel and Shuster team on "The Shipwrecked Gamblers."
